The WaterSense™ label is great place to start when you're looking for water-saving products that perform. The Environmental Protection Agency's partnership program, WaterSense promotes water-efficient products, programs and practices throughout the US. So you can be sure that products bearing the WaterSense label offer significant water savings and meet strict performance standards.

Kohler Co. has been recognized for its commitment to advancing the WaterSense mission and has received six consecutive EPA WaterSense awards. This includes the 2008 and 2009 WaterSense Manufacturing Partner of the Year, the 2010 and 2011 WaterSense Excellence Award for strategic collaboration, the 2012 WaterSense Manufacturing Partner of the Year and, most recently the 2013 and 2014 WaterSense Sustained Excellence Award.

Below are some of the exciting events and programs Kohler promoted in support of water conservation.

  • Planned, sponsored and executed the "Wasting Water is Weird" public service announcement campaign with several other organizations in the industry. This campaign was a bold and humorous way to reach consumers with the water conservation message and also included a large social media and web component, helping increase its effectiveness with a larger audience.
  • Kohler Co. dedicated its third green building project in May, 2012. The Beacon, Kohler's global communications office located in Kohler, Wisconsin, achieved LEED Gold certification. Among its features are WaterSense-labeled toilets, urinals, and bathroom faucets.
  • Kohler brought to market 28 new, innovative water-savings toilets and 30 showerheads and handshowers. Among the new technology introduced were the dual trip lever dual-flush toilet, the Moxie showerhead + speaker
  • Kohler participated in The Home Depot’s 2012 Earth Day Celebration in Times Square, NYC, which saw thousands of people in a six hour span. Kohler’s sales team utilized a KOHLER flush stand to demonstrate the flushing performance of a 1.28 Cimarron toilet.

  • Kohler Co. provided WaterSense-labeled plumbing products for notable projects such as Yellowstone National Park for retrofit of restrooms in the Lake Hotel, Wyland National Mayor's Water Conservation Challenge, New American show Home, Show Village exhibit home at International Builders' Show.
  • KOHLER product placement in several high-profile projects and locations including ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition; Yellowstone National Park; The House in Innoventions at Epcot, Disney World, Orlando, FL; PUNCHouse, Lisa Ling's personal home focused on sustainable living; and the World Trade Center museum restrooms.
  • Another initiative called out by WaterSense was Kohler's introduction of the Numi toilet, Kohler's most advanced toilet. The Numi toilet is Kohler's most water-efficient dual-flush toilet and proves that water efficiency can be integrated into luxury products without sacrificing performance or design.
  • Additionally, Kohler increased its WaterSense labeled showerhead offering by more than double, providing a multitude of new designs to consumers that will continue to help save water.

2011 WaterSense Excellence Award winner
  • SaveWaterAmerica.com Web site and Facebook page engaged tens of thousands of consumers to learn about WaterSense and water-efficient products. Kohler also contributed water-efficient products to 1,245 Habitat For Humanity homes in 48 states over a two-year period.
  • Trained nearly 9,000 professionals (plumbers, plumbing engineers, homebuilders, remodelers) on WaterSense and water-efficient products.
  • Provided displays of KOHLER Water-Sense-listed plumbing products at nearly 900 wholesale showrooms and approximately 500 Home Depot and Lowe's retail outlets.
  • National spokesperson Ed Del Grande, Master Plumber and LEED Green Associate, participated in interviews and engaged with traditional and social media, as well as customer events, trade shows and collaborative events with EPA surrounding WaterSense and water-efficient products.
  • Collaborated with EPA to drive consumer awareness on WaterSense and water-efficient products through "Fix-A-Leak Week" and "We're For Water" events.
  • Placed WaterSense-labeled plumbing products in high-profile events and venues, including 2010 PGA Championship, Yellowstone National Park, Charmin Holiday Restrooms in Times Square, historic Union Station in Washington DC, and J.W. Marriott Corp. hotels.
